We report a hepatotoxic reaction in an HIV-negative medical professional on day 14 of postexpositional prophylaxis (PEP) with antiretroviral drugs. It was essential to decide whether the clinical symptoms nausea and fever without exanthema or enanthema were related to a HIV-seroconversion, a viral hepatitis or a hepatotoxic reaction due to the medication administered.
