pubmed-article:10203938 | pubmed:abstractText | Differences in self-reported health behaviors between public health professionals and support staff were examined. 431 women working in nine county health departments in northern Illinois completed the Health-promoting Lifestyle Profile. The professionals reported a healthier lifestyle than the support staff. This result was significant after adjustment for age, race, educational attainment, and job tenure. The findings were discussed in the context of several theories of behavior and the Health Belief and Health Promotion Models. Suggestions for research are provided. | lld:pubmed |
